This is my little tutorial based from this one
here. With just a few modifications of my own.
First you need to find a picture that you'll like to be put as the header. Make sure it's at least 720 x 180 pixels in size.
Secondly, get the default Kubrick header which can be found
here. Then save it to your computer.
Thirdly, open the header with Photoshop. If you don't have it you can download Photoshop CS from
this website (or
this one if you run on Mac).
Then you select the header with the magic hand tool. This can be a bit fiddly. Once you have it selected, copy it to your clipboard.
Now open up your picture with Photoshop and paste the header onto it. Then change the header opacity to 50% so you can see where you're placing it (this didn't wokr for me so I just did it with pure guess work, it must have just been me :P).
Once you have placed over the area change the opacity back to 100% and then in the layers box select the layer that contains the picture but don't select anything else after that. Now copy it to your clipboard.
Open up the original header again and paste the picture onto the header. Now place it over the blue header so nothing else shows. If you want to add some text the do so (if you do you'll need to move to another one of my mini-tutorials which I'll be writing soon). If you don't add text then make sure that you'll be able to see the white title.
Now, save it as a .jpg file and then host it on a picture hosting website website (like
Imageshack) and then get the
direct link to the picture.
Once you have the link go to your Kubrick template code you found off
Blogger-Templates and go to the bit that says:
#kheader {
background: url("LINK HERE") no-repeat bottom center #73a0c5;
}
In the "LINK HERE" bit just put in the direct link you got for the picture (but make sure the URL is still encased with double quotes) and all should work :).
Hope this tutorial helped you :D.
